FAQ

Questions, answered

The things people most often want to know before working with LaVeena, answered plainly.

Do you diagnose or treat disease?

No. My role is to educate and support, not to diagnose, treat, prescribe, or manage diseases. My work happens alongside your own medical care, never instead of it.

Are you a medical doctor?

No. I am a Doctor of Natural Medicine (DNM) with board certifications in holistic functional medicine, functional nutrition, and holistic health practice, and a Certified Executive Coach. I am not a conventional medical doctor, and I do not replace one. You can read exactly what each credential covers on the About & Scope page.

Is anything on this site medical advice?

No. Everything here, including the book and the blog, is education and information only. Decisions about diagnosis, treatment, and medication belong with you and your own physician.

What is a Private Membership Association (PMA)?

A Private Membership Association is a private, contract-based association. LaVeena offers her education and support services to members within this private framework rather than to the general public. Joining is simple and explained on the Join PMA page.

Do you take insurance?

Services are private-pay and are not billed to health insurance. Care is provided to members within a Private Membership Association, which sits outside the conventional insurance system. If you have an HSA or FSA, you are welcome to ask whether your plan will accept documentation, though that is between you and your provider.

Do I need to be in Sedona to work with you?

No. LaVeena is based in Sedona, Arizona and serves clients worldwide. Sessions are available recorded or live.

What is Human Design, and how does it shape your work?

LaVeena's practice is informed by Human Design, and she is a 3/5 Human Design Projector Teacher. Human Design is a self-understanding framework, drawn from a blend of older wisdom traditions, that maps how you are wired to make decisions, spend your energy, and engage with the world. I use it as a personalized lens, a way to tailor lifestyle and wellness strategies to how you actually operate rather than hand you a one-size plan. It is a tool for reflection and alignment, not a medical diagnosis, and it always sits alongside the practical health foundations, never in place of them.

How do I get started?

The best place to start is the book. Read a free chapter of Bad Medicine Blues, and if you would like your lab results reviewed, see Testing & Reports.

Where do I get the labs and supplements you work with?

Functional labs are available through her Rupa Health storefront, and practitioner-grade supplements through her Fullscript store.
